The most nutritious of oils are those that have been “cold pressed”. Seeds, nuts, fruits and pits are rich in fats and offer the greatest of gifts from Mother Nature. Cold pressing preserves the natural character and high content of natural substances – original color and clarity, natural taste, natural aroma, unsaturated fatty acids, vitamins, enzymes, lecithin and trace elements are all retained in their entirety.

The press cake, sometimes called meal, is what remains after the recovery of the oil. The press cake exits the press in the form of pellets. These contain high grade nutritional value for human as well as animal consumption. It is also being used in the manufacturing of baked goods – added back in as a natural nutritional additive. Besides the use in the food industry and animal feed, the press cake finds further application as a natural fertilizer or fuel.

KOMET – Natural oil presses for maximum results….
With these presses, we have developed extraordinary equipment that is unique in the German and world markets. Our presses do not operate with the widely used compression type screw recovery system, but with a special transportation screw being used. The advantage is that the seeds or nuts are not being crushed and ground in the press chamber, where the extracted oil mixes with the impurities and harmful ingredients from the shell and outer skins of the seeds. Rather the screw in the KOMET press transports the seed loosely to the press head at the end of the press cylinder, where they are pressed in a narrow cut in the press head under the lowest temperatures possible. The result is an absolutely natural oil of the highest quality.
