More than 105,000 people visited Foodex Japan 2004 over the four days.
Professionals from the food and beverage industry the world over gathered in Japan last week for four days, as the 29th International Food and Beverage Exhibition was held again from March 9 through March 12.
Over 105,000 visitors flocked to Foodex Japan 2004, the largest food and beverage trade show in Asia, to examine the wares of some 2,500 exhibiting companies from 74 countries and regions on display at Makuhari Messe (Nippon Convention Center) in the outskirts of Tokyo.
The stated objective of the annual event is to bring together a vast variety of food and beverages -- both from Japan and around the world -- and to showcase the newest trends, innovations and business opportunities in the global industry. The event also provides a great forum for industry professionals to get together and talk shop.

The massive area -- almost 30,000 m2 in total -- was divided into an international exhibition zone, which occupied about 60% of the entire venue, and another zone occupied by Japanese exhibitors, which filled up four of the giant halls at Makuhari Messe.
Each year, exhibitors in the International Exhibition Zone become more flamboyant in their presentations and efforts to attract visitors to the stands, and this year was no exception.
In addition to the main exhibition, there were a number of auxiliary and special events focusing on different food and beverage industry-related products and services, and industry issues, including with panel exhibits, presentations, seminars and a massive "bookshop" of industry-related journals and magazines.
